WAN Emulation Solution From Shunra Software Awarded 2008 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award
Shunra Software, the world’s leading provider of network emulation and application performance testing solutions, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named Shunra Virtual Enterprise (VE) as a recipient of a 2008 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
Shunra Virtual Enterprise is the market leading WAN Emulation solution for software testing throughout the entire application development lifecycle. Available in both desktop software and high throughput appliance platforms, Shunra VE includes integrations with industry leading load tools such as HP LoadRunner and IDEs providing a fully automated test environment. Shunra VE predicts application acceleration performance under real-world WAN conditions, exposing client-network-server bottlenecks and identifying root cause to help ensure application deployment success.
“We are excited to receive this prestigious award from TMC. Based both on our technology and our customer accolades this award represents what distinguishes us in the market: delivering superior network emulation and application performance testing technology and supporting that technology with the expertise we’ve accumulated by partnering with our customers,” said Thomas Charlton, Shunra Software CEO.
Shunra customer, Dialogic Corporation, is a leading provider of multimedia and signaling technologies and platforms. They used Shunra Virtual Enterprise to test their Dialogic(R) IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway.
The Dialogic testing team recreated impairments in a complex network in which different tiers were located in different physical locations and the interdependencies were not well understood. The team was immediately able to enhance their software and change the network impairments – prior to deployment. The team relied on the analytical reports provided by Shunra VE, which drilled down to individual elements of the router interface and pinpointed the type of congestion encountered. This allowed them to: view the behavior of the application in the form of packets in a cloud, predict the impact of latency on behavior of the application, and isolate the choke points which were impacting performance. They were then able to create “what if” scenarios to test server or software configurations by easily modifying the actual network configuration through Shunra VE’s powerful, drag-and-drop Visio interface.
“We were extremely happy with the results and were confident that the solution would run well over the client’s complex network,” said Scott Simmons, Test Groups Manager, Dialogic. “We use Shunra Virtual Enterprise on a daily basis now to test our software as we add functionality to products. Without the Shunra WAN Emulator we would not accurately understand the performance impact applications have on the end user.”
“Advancing IP communications and providing real solutions in the marketplace has earned Shunra Software recognition from the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY and an INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award. Shunra Virtual Enterprise has excelled in delivering solutions and its customers are extremely pleased and have offered their testaments of support,” said Greg Galitzine, Editorial Director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
“We are proud to present Shunra with a 2008 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award. Shunra VE has proven its outstanding contribution to IP communications and delivered winning solutions for its customers,” indicated Rich Tehrani, Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
