The ABCs of Floor Shining
All over the world, large amounts of dollars and great numbers of man-hours are spent each year on floor polishing tools and cleaning agents to keep the floors of homes, hotels, offices, buildings and institutions clean and shiny. It is quite fortunate that a few innovative men and women have devised imaginative tools and effective cleaning materials to help in this task.
The floor polisher is one of those piece of equipment. What this appliance does is to spin very quickly discs that hold bristles for cleaning, abrasive materials for sanding, or any soft material for polishing with wax or liquid solutions. They can be hand-operated for small applications, but they can also be huge and heavy for construction use.
You can think of the manually-operated tool as an elongated tool, about 30 cm long and 6 inches wide, with a catch that can hold a disc at the bottom or, on some models, at its far end. There are a lot of variations in its arrangement, but this is the overall idea. You do not have to have this sort for your floor polishing needs. It is too small for the purpose. Neither do you want the big industrial types.
What you want for your residence is the medium-sized polisher that you can use to scrub and wax your floors. The power plant, along with the discs, sits on the floor. A movable pole is attached to the engine, (extends up|reaches up|continues} to about your waist, and ends in a t-handle. You use this handle to maneuver the polisher. If you want it to move left, lower the handle; to the right, lift it. If you want to stop, just let go of it. A plastic container is attached to the pole which may carry and automatically sprinkles liquid polishing solution to the floor.
This is floor polishing made easy. No more bending down to your hands and knees to scrub the floor. No more greasy hands applying wax. You just stand up, lower or lift the handle, and you get clean shiny floors.
