Jewelry, Loose Diamonds Stolen in NJ
Robbers barged into a Jersey City, NJ jewelry store tying up and employee and pistol whipping the owner on January 6th. The burglers managed to get away with jewlery from several display cases as well as loose diamonds which were stored in an unlocked safe.
Police describe when arriving at Jarlley Jewelers on West Side Avenue that afternoon they found a 66 year old employee with his hands bound by a plastic zip tie, and the 49 year old owner on the floor bleeding.
The store owner described that a man came in and asked to see ID bracelets. While he was showing those, another man cam into the store and yelled that this was a hold up. The first man then struck the owner in the head with a gun while the second man leaped over the counter and tied up the employee.
As the robber holding the gun stood over the store owner, the second man started to stuff a blue bag with any jewelry and loose diamonds he could grab. It’s unclear as to the diamond prices that were ultimately stolen until a full inventory is performed.
